<?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?><?xml-stylesheet href="http://www.blogger.com/styles/atom.css" type="text/css"?><feed xmlns='http://www.w3.org/2005/Atom' xmlns:openSearch='http://a9.com/-/spec/opensearchrss/1.0/' xmlns:georss='http://www.georss.org/georss' xmlns:gd='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005' xmlns:thr='http://purl.org/syndication/thread/1.0'><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-393053644983452369</id><updated>2011-04-21T22:02:07.799-07:00</updated><title type='text'>What I Believe</title><subtitle type='html'></subtitle><link rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#feed' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://beckytuckerbeliefs.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/393053644983452369/posts/default?max-results=100'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://beckytuckerbeliefs.blogspot.com/'/><link rel='hub' href='http://pubsubhubbub.appspot.com/'/><author><name>Becky</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/03546501394809508134</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='32' height='28' src='http://www.sionnain.net/punky/punkysplash.jpg'/></author><generator version='7.00' uri='http://www.blogger.com'>Blogger</generator><openSearch:totalResults>1</openSearch:totalResults><openSearch:startIndex>1</openSearch:startIndex><openSearch:itemsPerPage>100</openSearch:itemsPerPage><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-393053644983452369.post-7399375230180047569</id><published>2008-03-29T10:09:00.000-07:00</published><updated>2008-03-29T10:30:17.141-07:00</updated><title type='text'></title><content type='html'>Four years ago, when I was at Gordon-Conwell, this is where a lengthy theology paper detailing where I stood on every major theological issue would go.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;However, since then, I've come to discover that there are essentials, non-essentials, and grace and unity in diversity.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Nicene and Apostles creeds are good starting points for what I believe.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I'm working on a brief but eloquent statement in my own words...in addition to basically working full time and going to school full time - so, basically, check out the nicene and apostles creeds for now.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;To possibly help with the sad but often necessary job of categorizing....here are three theological positions I might fit into with some caveats to give you a feel for how I live these out:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Generally speaking, &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;I'm evangelical&lt;/span&gt; - but maybe more &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;evangelical &lt;/span&gt;(meaning good news-&lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;ical&lt;/span&gt;) than some (ie I want not only to speak the good news with my mouth and invite people into a life-giving relationship with the Tri-une God, but I also want to live the good news with my life, blessings all those whose path I'm blessed to cross)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;and &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;pro-life&lt;/span&gt; - but maybe more pro-life than some (ie I oppose war, abortion, the death penalty, abuse or ignorance of two-thirds world people, and am avidly seeking the end of the AIDS pandemic which is spreading early death around the world and exponentially multiplying orphans).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I also &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;love Scripture&lt;/span&gt; and do believe that it is authoritative for life and belief.  But I &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;so&lt;/span&gt; love scripture, that I see it as one to have a relationship with - and, in having a relationship with Scripture, I realize that sometimes I see things that aren't there or misunderstand it.
